Everybody Loosey..........

This is a piece I drew for my friend Alana she has just re-found her obsession for Burst Angel (this cheesy anime) and is asking everyone to draw her favorite character Meg. This is my rendition with attempts to avoid the anime style. I spent extra time on this cause she loves this show and I thought she'd appreciate a really well drawn pic. I also thought it would be a good challenge to draw an existing character in a different style. I'll also post the line work and the changes I made to them.

What I've been up too.........

So I have been working on getting my two films complete as well as some doodling on the side....

First, I'm tightening up my character designs and story from Love at First Fright as well as finishing up the rest of STAGE ONE. I hope to have everything done soon as I need new portfolio pieces and now's the best time ever. Not being employed yet gives me the extra time to work on my own stuff while looking for work. I really think that working on stuff will strengthen my skills so keep an eye out. Soon I'll post stuff from these two projects.

For now............PERFECT DARK!!!

Here's a pic I did up on the Oekaki board for my bro, who is playing PD0 right now.

Oekaki woes.........

So me and my friends have an oekaki board where we draw inside jokes and such and just have a good time. Well today wasn't a good time. We had this Batman joke going and I wanted to contribute. I did a Two-Face drawing spending some time on details and what not only to not be allowed to upload. I tried a bunch of different things to get on but nothing worked. I then got some crappy scribble tests to work and then attempted to draw another pic. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I ended up spending more time on the second one thinking that it would work and guess what NO IT DIDN'T!!! Anyways I've decided to post them here so they can be seen.

I'm done ranting here are the pics...............

I also hope to get the finished Summer's End piece up by the end of this weekend.

Later!

Zack and Miri

So I had the pleasure of to watching a special presentation of Zack and Miri make a Porno, the new Kevin Smith film, yesterday at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was really really good, I wont say much cause it's not out till Oct 31 and I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but damn! It was funny, sweet, sexy, gross, silly, what else can I say it's a well rounded film. Smitty has done it again. He completely proved to all the Jersey Girl haters that he can make a non Jay and Bob movie and have it kick ass. For the record I really enjoyed Jersey Girl, if you haven't seen that yet either check it out. It is also a sweet and heart warming film, yet still hilarious. Kevin has an amazing talent for writing real people feeling real things in outrageous situations. Seth Rogen is brilliant in this, everything from his expressions to how he delivers his lines is amazing, and his acting is phenomenal, there are moments when you really feel for this guy. As for his "yang", Elizabeth Banks, she is also very memorable and hysterically funny, she also has scenes that pull on your heart strings proving her an excellent actress. Then there's Mewes, his part as Lester is ridiculous he is something else, you are gonna die laughing at this guy. Oh and keep your eye out for Justin Long, his cameo is one of the funniest parts of this film. The over all feel of the movie is very "indy" and makes you feel that your watching IFC, as well as having that Clerks mysticism to it. It's very reminiscent of Kevin's early career. Overall AWESOME! Can't wait to see it again in October, and everyone should go as well.

Hiatus is over.................

OK so it has been a really really long time. I've been looking for work and tightening up my work over the summer break. Well summer is over and though I'm not going to school I've been learning a lot lately. I started going back to some books I have and reading up on some of my weaker areas. Trying to get in a different frame of mind when drawing and focusing on structure and form. Its a bit difficult after drawing in a certain way for so long but I've found that these books below have been really helping me out.

The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation

Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life

How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way
(Not the book, I actually dug out my old VHS and was taking notes,
its awesome I actually want to pick up the book sometime soon.)

So that's the word with me I also dug up some old work, tweaked it and coloured it. Still need to drop in a background and what not. I will post it up later this week in its current WIP state.

Also if anyone has any other books or anything for me to check out please let me know.

Sweet good to be back.

LOTS OF UPDATES!

Whats up! Lots of stuff to update for today.
I thought today would be a great day to update for my story.

Last weekend we hit up Video Games Live which was amazing! Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall put on an excellent show, even better than last time. Going to the show was really motivating for my film and being right in front of an orchestra preforming video game music was intense. Also while I was there I came upon a couple that were a perfect pair and a great coincidence considering my films characters.

End part One.......
