MO YO JOE FO SHO!
Hey Knuckle Head!
So I over estimated myself and my lack of a faster better computer, and have fallen behind on my challenge...NONE THE LESS I will continue to draw the characters on my list and upload them as they are complete. I really want to keep up on these. I'm having a lot fun drawing them and hope you enjoy viewing them. For today's update I present the great comedic duo of Alpine and Bazooka. Every time these two hit the screen they kill me, honestly between yodeling to cause an avalanche and "imaginary" Sea Monsters its all jokes with these Joes. Also another great scene is where they try to pick up Lady Jaye in front of Flint...CLASSIC!
So more to come soon!

YO JOE!
SSSSILENCE!!
Okay with all the movie hype going on I've been addicted to watching my old GIJoe DVDs. What a great show its so campy and full of cheese yet so bad ass at the same time. So it got me thinking I should draw a GIJOE character a day for the rest of the month starting from the premiere of the movie (which I have yet to see!). I realize I'm late since the movie came out on Friday the 7th but I have plans to help me catch up. To begin the count down I chose to start with none other than the great Cobra Commander!!
Enjoy and more to come!

Back in Buisness....So to speak...
Hello hello!
So in wake of the disaster that was myToons closing on me, I've found a new home for my demoreel and portfolio. I came across this awesome website while viewing a friends portfolio. The site is carbonmade.com, a very easy and great site for online work display. You have two options a free account or a paid account, lots of space and clean layouts. It's a great place to show off your work. So my portfolio is up there now and the link is in the old spot of the myToons link, I also added their blog into my links section. So have a look see and enjoy.

P.S. Enjoy this quick drawing of WWE Superstar Montel Vontavious Porter...

My Apologies...
So turns out that MyToons.com is closed which is a bit of a disappointment considering I was using the space on there to host my demo reel and portfolio. It was brought up to my attention this morning and is really inconvenient especially since I have sent the link to studios requesting to view my work. It was a surprise to me, cause I didn't even receive a "hey thanks for using MyToons.com, unfortunately we are closing the site due to....blah blah blah....whatever reason" email. Well I just want to send my sincere apologies out and in attempts to seem less unprofessional than I have already made myself appear with this situation I am working on opening an offshoot blog for the sole purpose of hosting my reel and portfolio.
Again sorry for the inconvenience this has caused anyone and I'll keep you all posted.
Later!

And so begins the next chapter...
So in a weird turn of events....ironic if you will....I was let go from work about a month after my last post about artist suffering during the "recession".
Well I'm keeping spirits high and looking for work back in the industry. Keeping drawing and staying positive. I now have more time to perfect my craft. Below you will find a couple of things I have been working on as well as some treats I've found while updating my portfolio.
Which brings me to my next point....I now have an online Portfolio. I joined the site mytoons.com and have created a portfolio like I mentioned I was going to do a couple post ago.
So Check it out tell me what you think and I'll be back next week with some more postage for all to see.

Check out these earlier sketches for my Skullshire Girl piece, done in Sketchbook Pro...
Here are two early versions of the Burst Angel drawing I did way back when......The one on the left is detail on the face and the one on the right is the original version before I made some changes to the drawing.

I'm not a resident of Vaughan....but man if I was.
OK so I am currently working at a newspaper publishing company in Toronto. They publish many different ethnic papers and I do graphic design for some of them. Amongst them are two English papers, The Town Crier and Vaughan Today. They run in and around the many different areas of Toronto and are monthly (TC) and weekly (VT). It's not animation related but is something steady in our current state of economic turmoil, plus I have a graphic design background so I'm doing well. Last week in VT, I had the opportunity to have a political comic published in the paper and am posting it below.
I understand why my teachers used to say it was so hard to work from photos when caricaturing people. I don't live in Vaughan and am unfamiliar with the politics there and was informed by the editorial people that the mayor is a trouble maker and they gave me the basic explanation for what the comic should look like.
So check it out there is my initial version the final printed version and my reference drawings along a photo of her.
PEACE!

Portfolio preview, will be uploading to mytoons.com me thinks.
Skullshire Girl WIP for the site http://skullshiregirls.blogspot.com
Here is a pic that did not make it into THIS version of my portfolio maybe the next one...
This is a comparison of the girl in the portfolio page above my initial cafe sketch was very lacking so I decided to make it a strong drawing by using my structure to show her face and also I wrapped the glasses around the head better than they were.
